apropos in Mac OS X

The apropos command in Mac OS X is used to search the man pages for a given keyword. It displays a list of manual pages that are relevant to the search term.

The syntax of the command is:

apropos keyword

For example, to search for manual pages related to the keyword "network", you can use the command:

apropos network

This will display a list of manual pages that are related to networking in the system. You can then use the man command with the appropriate section number to view the manual page for a particular command or topic.
